Fantastic and incredibly rare complete set of four first-year-of-release special promo posters for The Beatles much-loved classic Yellow Submarine. Printed in 1968 by Columbia Redcords/King Features Syndicate Subafilms and featuring iconic and colourfully psychedelic Edelmann artwork.
The Yellow Submarine album was released in January 1969 as the soundtrack of the 1968 Yellow Submarine animated film that had been released a few months prior. These posters were most likely used for record store advertising and promotional purposes or as a merchandise tie-in to the album. As a consequence, they were printed in limited quantities and few have survived to this day, especially in such good condition. Very rare, stunning and highly collectible posters. A must for any fan of the Fab Four!
The bottom of each poster is printed “Columbia Special Products/CBS Records/New York” and has a 1968 copyright by King Features Syndicate – Subafilms, Ltd.
These original vintage posters has been professionally linen-backed and are sized approx. 21 1/4 x 29 inches each (plus a little with the linen-backing). They will be sent rolled (unframed).
